Love the steamer!, I previously owned the "Haan FS20 Plus Steam Cleaning Floor Sanitizer with Deluxe Sanitizing Tray" and was very happy with the product. My one complaint was that I could not get the corners of rooms real well. The "Haan HS-20 Deluxe Personal Sanitizing Handheld Steam Cleaner with Attachments" is AMAZING! This works so well to get the corners of rooms that were previously untouched, and therefore not clean. It does amazing things for our walk in shower! I could never get the railings for my shower doors very clean but they are super now.
One thing I was surprised at was the amount of water that the cleaner uses. This makes it a bit slower to clean as you have to let the steamer cool off before you can refill with water. If there was one thing I would change about the product it would be a larger holding tank for water so that you could clean for longer periods of time. You also have to use distilled water for every cleaning or there are water stains on the surfaces you clean. All in all I am very happy with my steamers. The only better solution would be for full time cleaning service to come to my house on a daily basis, but sadly this is not in my future.
It's just ok. (don't discard your glass/surface cleaner just yet!), i wanted to give this one star, but i let off a little personal steam and my cooler head will prevail. i had high hopes for this after all the internet hoopla.
-the short of it is it took me 25 minutes to do what i normally do in 7 in my little kitchen.
-i could hold my hand in front of the spray for nearly 8 seconds before it got hot enough to qualify as steam.
-it did ok on superficial stains, but couldn't easily handle stuff like grime on the inside of the microwave and the grease-gunk the builds up on a stovetop. this is specifically what i'd intended to use it for. i had to go over that stuff for what i consider to be far too long.
-it got the litte stuff off my counter, but after wiping and drying, i noticed that the cruddier stuff merely smeared. i repeated, more slowly then ran out of steam. 25 minutes and two refills later, i still had to let grimier stuff soak in glass/surface cleaner before wiping it off with a paper towel.
-after all this i took the steamer to the side of the oven/stove where whoever lived in this apartment before me seemed to take pride in letting layers of grime develop.
defective product and worthless guarantee., I bought this product and used it only two times, always using it according to the directions that came with the product. The connection tip broke off while I was using it to clean tile grout, as described in their product literature. This occurred within the one year period of product guarantee, but HAAN denied my claim and said that I had not used it properly, but had dropped it. The product is worthless now and their guarantee is meaningless. Don't waste your money on this one.
Haan HS-20 Deluxe Personal Sanitizing Handheld is just OK., I recieved the package very quickly. Thanks Amazon. This purchase was mostly made to clean stained grout on my ceramic tile floors & to safely sanitize my McCaw cage. It did handle both jobs, but not as well as I would have hoped on the grout.
Wonderful if you know what to expect, read for my results by area of the house, This steam cleaner works great if you know what to expect. It will not automatically eliminate any stain. I bought it mainly to avoid using chemicals when not needed and also to help with cleaning in areas that are hard to reach like the corners and edges of the molding. I'll explain my results by area:
First, in the bathroom I've used it to sanitize the toilet sit without chemicals. Of course it's unnoticeable but I don't have to wipe with my hand. In the tub it does eliminate certain stains but it requires patience. You have to treat each stain for a little while for it to disappear.
Second, for floors I love it because I can remove stains or anything stuck between tiles which is an area unreachable for mops and sweepers.
Third, in the kitchen it cleans really fast my dish drying rack and eliminates stains without having the use chemicals near my dishes. It also cleans the stove and the corners of the sink and faucet really well. The only thing I don't like is the water splashes all the area so I have to remove stuff that shouldn't get wet and afterwards I have to dry the area.
I've used it to clean a couple of spots on the carpet and it helped but I still had to use a spray cleaner for complete removal.
I've used it to clean the soles of shoes and it does an amazing job. I've also used to clean around the light switches and you wouldn't believe how much dirt gets in there. The wonder of this little machine is that it allows you to clean previously unreachable places.
I haven't had much chance to use the attachments because the main attachment works great for what I use it but I like having the possibility of using them.
urgh!! not what I expected, Product produces steam and has great attachments. But, I wouldn't have purchased if I had realized the steam only lasts a short period and then you have to wait for pressure to go down before you open cap to refill, then wait for steam to heat/build up. I tried using to steam my window ledges (area between window and screen- outside part) and i had to refill at least 3 times to get one sooty/grimey ledge cleaned. I then tried to use to steam my mattress...urgh, not happening with a King sized bed.....used my garment steamer instead, just hope steam is hot enough in garment steamer. Pupose for that was a bed bug incident at my childs school (not just NYC hotels).
good for small/light jobs. Wouldn't recommmend for heavy duty grime or large areas.
Addicting!, I LOVE LOVE this steamer! It works great and it is so addicting. Great price and I highly recommend this product. Customer service was the best I EVER dealt with and we like knowing how affordable replacement parts are if we ever had to purchase any. I have not had one issue with this steamer so far.
I love it!, You will always have to wipe the dirt... but it comes out easily from the very strong steam that comes out this appliance..Im glad i got it! Im just trying it! so far so good.

Don't waste your money!, I rarely write reviews, but in this case I feel compelled to, so you don't waste your money. I had a Haan Steam Mop that I loved, which is why I purchased the hand held steamer. I had hoped that I could use it primarily to clean the bathroom and the tile grout in the kitchen. It took all day to clean the grout and I have a VERY small kitchen. I had to wait for the steam and then still had to scrub. Somehow I thought it would make cleaning easier, but all it really does is make the job take 10x longer because you have to constantly stop and wait for the steam. It is also very heavy and awkward to hold. As another poster said, you're basically waiting for the thing to work. Also, as others have mentioned the knob is very difficult to screw on and unscrew. The instructions are a joke. The words are misspelled! It stopped working less than a year after I purchased it. I probably used it a half a dozen times. It went to the dump. Very dissatisfied. Don't waste your money.
