RoboMaid Floor Sweeper Buy this one!

robo maid, I love this item. Picks up dog hair and dust bunnies daily at my house.
"ZERO", I just went back and read the reviews from other customers, hence I do understand why I did purchase 2 of the Robomaids via the Amazon reports. My experience has been very different than those listed and I'm amazed with the satisfaction reports by other customers. First the actual round form that slips around the ball is similar to a flimsy disposable plastic cup, one of which arrived cracked. The ball in the Robomaid in one of my devices does cover a lot of territory. The second purchase only covers about a 6 foot radius and requires me to manually move it. The floors need to be swept before use since it does not pick up anything but dust leaving larger particles behind, including tracked in dirt and burrs from outside on my wood floors. And completely ineffective on my tiled floors. After I finished running the Robomaid the cloth on the bottom of the Robomaid (needs to be replaced after each use), was mildly dirty. After I ran both devices I took my swifter duster across the floor with brief easy movements on the floor and it picked up more dirt than either Robomaid in only a 4 foot radius. The product plus shipping cost me roughly around $35 dollars each, added up to $70 plus the cost of replacement pads= close to $90.

I also purchased the iRobot 110 Dirt Dog at the same time. This little device is for workshops, but it was significantly cheaper than the household items by the same company. This little contraption can VACUUM! It does not have some of the features as the household products, but it vacuumed my hard surfaces including tile and wood flooring. It also transitioned from one flooring type to the other- including persian carpets, easily. I had to empty out the dust bin many times the first few times I used it- now that I have used it many times it is unnecessary to empty the device until the end of each session. The draw back is it does not automatically unwind around string (or the fringe on carpets) that the home devices have. I am currently in the process trying to decide on the iRobot to purchase next since I need three to clean my down stairs (I will stick to the old fashion vacuum cleaner for my carpet upstairs).

All in all- I would give the Robomaid a "ZERO" if possible. The only positive comment I could possibly make is my cat has been entertained. I would save the money and invest with a longer lasting, higher quality cleaner device like the Dustdog at a $129 and a one year warranty. I am returning the Robomaid at a 20% restocking fee (which will go straight to their trash bin I'm sure) and the cost for shipping back.
Gift that keeps on giving, This was purchased as a gift as we have had ours for many years. Not for a major cleaning but for as a touchup or for maintaining on a regular basis. Works remarkably well. Fun to use, enjoy.
Buy this one!, It does what it claims! No bells and whistles, but its fun to use and it dusts like a son-of-a-b....
RoboMaid, This was a Christmas gift for a friend who is disabled & has pets.
Why pay almost $50 if you can buy the same item for less than $15?, The title of this review says it all. Check this link, it is sold right here at Amazon.com

On the other hand, I love this product, but once that you run out of the disposable pads, don't expect the vendors that supply the Robomaid to sell the pads. They're very hard to come by, however if you make a search with Google, etc, you may find them.
a robot dry mop, When I lived in a carpeted place I loved my Roomba, but once I moved to a place with hardwood then I found it to be overly noisy (no carpet muffling the sound? or maybe it's just getting old?), so I ended up cleaning the floor manually and much less often. Didn't want to get a Scooba both because of cost and because most of the floor cleaning is dust and cat fur anyways.

When I heard about RoboMaid I thought I'd give it a try @ under $30. This is a nifty device. Basically a self-propelled swifter dry mop. It's relatively quite, no worse than rolling a plastic ball along the floor, since that's more or less exactly what it is: a self-propelled ball pushing a circular dry mop as it goes. I run it every day and am amazed that there is still so much dust/fur to pick up each time. Since this handles all the loose particulate then I don't need to wet mop nearly as much or as carefully, as there are few dust bunnies to chase down.

Comes with a dozen of the drop mop sheets. Additional ones run about $0.25 each if you buy in bulk off an auction site, or you can use generic swifter sheets and cut the circular shape out of them (takes 2 sheets @ maybe $0.10 per sheet).
What A Waste! A Piece Of Garbage!, I have hardwood flooring in my living room and hallways, I was looking for an easy way to clean it and get to places that normally you cant reach without moving furniture around.
I have 3 pets, 2 cats and a dog- so there is tons of pet hair around, I figured that this would be a great thing to try and the price wasnt too bad.
When it came, the thing is just very cheap plastic, the part that drags along the floor was bent and didnt lay flat on the floor- I bent it and got it close to flat as possible-
Its very easy to use- just push a button and the ball moves the sweeper moves it around-
the ball is kind of rough and is not smooth rolling at all- it is very loud also.
It did not really clean anything just pushed the dirt and hair around. I had to move practically everything around while this thing "cleaned" which since I had to do that-- I might as well have cleaned the floor myself-- I ended up having to do that anyway.
But, this was a complete waste of money and was far from happy with this product.
Robomaid, I love this product! I have hardwood floors throughout my house and these Robomaids (I have 3 of them) really help alot. They pick up dog hair and dust and do a really good job.
robomaid, This product was one I ordered when it sold for $5.00. It is still working but the new one I just ordered will not run more than 4 or 5 minutes. I can recharge it and it says it is full charged and won't run. They are amazing when they work, but this new one won't work. Do not buy from PTF Supply Inc.
