The valve works even if you don't have the vacuum to use to remove the air. You can open it manually and compress the bag to remove most of the air and it will give you a good compact rate deppending on what you have in. For me worked with comfort, jackets and pillows.
Already used 4 times in 2 weeks and no issues so far.
Vacumn Storage Bags - Great space savers!, I purchased two of these multi size/multi bag kits to be able to fit more items into rubbermaid storage tubs.
We are moving out of the country and by using these bags I can fit 3 times the number of items in one storage bin
saving room on the shipping container and the number of tubs I need to buy.

this purchase is filled with hot air. a real joke. i stored one comforter into the large bag and was finicky in ensuring that the content would not pass the overflowline. i put the bag away compressed neatly but when i checked back after three weeks it had collapsed. i revived the space bag and restuffed my comforter. a few weeks later, i went back to it. same thing. the air had escaped and making the comforter bulged inside the bag. i was better off storing my comforter in an ordianry trash bag.
i will rate this product 1/2 star.
Not recommended, The description on this page says that Space Bags are "airtight," however, more than one bag slowly leaked air over the course of about a week and a half. The vacuum seal did not appear to be loose, and I followed the directions carefully, so I can only assume that the flimsy construction of the bag was to blame. The bags are also difficult to zip, even when I made sure not to overfill them.
does the job, I got these by the lighting deal, so they only costed 10 bucks... I have had other similar space bags before, and they worked great, they got them for around 16 to 20 bucks, so no complain on the price... however, there is one thing about the design of these bags that is definitely a flaw compared to my other space bags, the little plastic piece that uses to zip up the seal, there is nothing to stop it in the end!... and the lock OFTEN slips out of the bag when I try to zip up the bag because the material of the bag is so slippery.
Total waste of money!!!, Don't waste your money on this product!!!
I bought a set of these because we have extremely limited closet space in our house. I was extremely disappointed-- the plastic seal closers have all popped off and the bags rip very easily. In short, this product is very cheaply and poorly constructed. You would be better off buying heavy-duty garbage bags to store your items.
Incredible Space bags, We actually ran out of things to put into these space bags. It made our last move a breeze. We bought two packs of the bags and still had some of the smaller ones left over. Now that we're in our new home we keep some of the stuff we don't use often in the space bags. If you need more space, or if you need a way to make those bulky items manageable-- then here's your answer.
Bags away!, I bought theses Space bags to put away all of our summer clothing. It was so great to have a few tightly sealed bags instead of the large containers that took up so much space.
no, no, NOOOOOO..., Space savers? Hardly! I bought 2 assorted sets of these "space bags", filled them with with pillows and various linens, sucked the air out, and put them in the attic. Two weeks later, all bags were completely filled with air again. I may as well have packed my belongings in boxes... but at least boxes would have stacked more neatly, left my sheets and pillowcases unwrinkled, and not have cost $40. What a waste....
Don't waste your money - "Space Bag" brand stinks, All three of mine failed. One ripped, the other two did not stay compressed. What a waste of money. I'd recommend staying away from the "Space Bag" brand of storage bags. I own many - from the vacuum flat bags, the roll-up travel bags, these cube-shaped bags, and even the hanging suit storage bag (I have very little closet space in my house). I would say the fail rate is about 70%. They rip easily, and many do not stay compressed. I love the idea of compression storage bags, but have yet to find a brand that performs consistently.
